Where to store luggage in Kelowna
Downtown & Bernard Avenue
Bernard Avenue is Kelowna's main drag - restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and boutiques all lined up. The Cultural District is right here too, with galleries and public art scattered around. If you've checked out of your hotel and want to kill a few hours downtown before heading to the airport, dropping your bags at a BagsAway spot on or near Bernard makes the whole afternoon better. Way more fun to browse shops hands-free.
Near Okanagan Lake & City Park Beach
City Park Beach is where everyone ends up in the summer. It's right downtown, the water's warm by July, and there's a solid chance someone will tell you about Ogopogo - the lake monster that's basically Kelowna's version of the Loch Ness Monster. (Locals are half-serious about it.) The floating bridge across the lake is worth seeing too; it's one of the only ones in Canada. Point is, this area gets packed and you don't want to be the person guarding a suitcase on the sand.
Pandosy Village
Pandosy Village is a bit south of downtown and has a more neighbourhood feel - independent shops, good brunch spots, and a farmers' market vibe. It's quieter than Bernard Ave but still walkable and worth checking out. If you're staying in this part of town, a nearby BagsAway location saves you from dragging bags back downtown.
Near Kelowna International Airport (YLW)
YLW is about 20 minutes from downtown and handles over 2 million passengers a year - it's busier than you'd expect. There are no public lockers at the airport. If your flight doesn't leave until the evening and checkout was at 11am, that's a long gap. BagsAway locations near the airport or along the route into the city fill that gap perfectly.
Winery district
The wine tours are the main draw for a lot of visitors. Summerhill Pyramid Winery (yes, there's an actual pyramid), Mission Hill with its hilltop views, and Quails' Gate are the big names, but there are dozens more. Most people do a full-day or multi-day wine tour and the last thing you want is luggage rattling around in the back of a shuttle van. Store it first, sip later.
Getting around Kelowna
Kelowna Regional Transit runs buses around the city, but there's no train or rail service here. Honestly, most visitors end up driving or using rideshares - the wineries are spread out and the transit doesn't cover them well. Knox Mountain Park is a quick drive or bike ride from downtown and has killer views of the lake. The Myra Canyon Trestles - old railway bridges turned into a bike and walking trail - are about 30 minutes outside town and totally worth it if you like that sort of thing.
