Where to find luggage storage in Sacramento
Our BagDrop network covers the areas visitors actually spend time in:
Downtown and the Capitol Mall
Downtown Sacramento is anchored by the State Capitol and Capitol Mall, a tree-lined boulevard that runs west to the river. The Capitol building itself is worth a tour and Capitol Park has memorials and gardens. Most of the big hotels, office towers and restaurants are here. It's the hub of the city. BagDrop locations downtown let you drop your stuff and explore without dragging it through meetings or sightseeing.
Old Sacramento Waterfront
Old Sacramento is a National Historic Landmark district with cobblestone streets, gold rush-era buildings, museums, shops and restaurants. The Tower Bridge links it to West Sacramento across the river. The California State Railroad Museum is here, and the waterfront promenade is a nice place to walk. It gets busy on weekends. Leave your bags at a BagDrop so you can browse the vintage stores and grab a bite at Fat City or Rio City Cafe without lugging anything.
Midtown Sacramento
Midtown is Sacramento's most walkable neighbourhood, laid out on a numbered street grid between the Capitol and East Sacramento. J Street and K Street are the main strips with cafes, breweries, restaurants and indie shops. The Crocker Art Museum is here, and there are murals and live music venues all over. It's where locals eat and drink. The grid makes it easy to get around on foot, but not with a suitcase. Drop your bags first.
Golden 1 Center and DOCO
Golden 1 Center is where the Sacramento Kings play, and DOCO (Downtown Commons) surrounds it with restaurants, bars, a movie theater and the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel. On game days and concert nights the area is packed. Arena policies usually limit bag size, and even if you get in, you don't want a backpack at your seat. A nearby BagDrop lets you enjoy the game or show without the hassle.
Sacramento Valley Station (Amtrak)
Sacramento Valley Station is the main Amtrak hub, serving Capitol Corridor, San Joaquins, California Zephyr and Coast Starlight routes. It's in downtown, a short walk from the Capitol and the core. There are no luggage lockers at the station. If you're arriving by train and want to explore before checking in somewhere, a BagDrop nearby is your best option.
East Sacramento and the Fab 40s
East Sacramento runs east of midtown and includes the Fab 40s, a stretch of tree-lined streets (40th through 48th) known for beautiful old homes and walkable neighbourhoods. McKinley Park is here, and Folsom Boulevard has restaurants and shops. It's quieter than downtown but still a popular area for visitors who want to see another side of the city. If you're spending time here, drop your bags first.
