    Downtown and the Cultural District

    Downtown Pittsburgh sits at the Point where the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers meet to form the Ohio. Point State Park is right there with its famous fountain. The Cultural District is a few blocks up and has Heinz Hall, the Benedum Center and the Byham Theater. Most of the big hotels and the Convention Center are downtown too.     The Strip District

    The Strip is Pittsburgh's best neighbourhood for food. It runs along the Allegheny River northeast of downtown and on weekends it's packed with people hitting up Penn Mac, Wholey's fish market, produce stands and coffee shops. The sidewalks get crowded and the aisles inside the shops are tight. This is not where you want to be with a suitcase.     North Shore and PNC Park

    The North Shore is across the Allegheny from downtown and it's where PNC Park (Pirates) and Acrisure Stadium (Steelers) are located. The Andy Warhol Museum is here too. Walking across the Clemente Bridge from downtown is one of the best walks in the city, but it's a lot better without a backpack full of stuff you don't need.

    Oakland (University area)

    Oakland is the university district, home to the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon. The Cathedral of Learning is here along with the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Carnegie Museum of Art. If you're visiting a student, attending a lecture or doing a campus tour, drop your bags at a BagDrop first. Oakland is hilly and walkable, but not with luggage.

    Station Square and Mount Washington

    Station Square is a shopping and dining complex on the south bank of the Monongahela, right across from downtown. From there you can catch the Duquesne Incline or the Monongahela Incline up to Mount Washington for some of the best city views in America. The incline cars are small and they fill up fast, so having bags along makes a tight ride even tighter. Store them before you go.

    Lawrenceville

    Lawrenceville has become Pittsburgh's trendiest neighbourhood. Butler Street is loaded with independent shops, craft breweries, restaurants and galleries. It stretches for about a mile and the best way to experience it is on foot, bouncing in and out of shops. Much easier without bags.

    Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT)
