    Where can I store luggage in Playa del Carmen?

    Playa del Carmen started as a quiet fishing village and somehow turned into one of the most visited spots on Mexico's Caribbean coast. The transformation happened fast, but the town still has a personality that bigger resort cities don't. The main draw is 5th Avenue, or Quinta Avenida, a pedestrian-only strip that runs parallel to the beach for over 20 blocks.     Beyond 5th Avenue, the beach itself is white sand and turquoise water. The Cozumel ferry leaves from the pier right downtown, which makes Playa a natural base for island day trips. Xcaret eco-park is just down the coast, and Tulum's clifftop ruins are about an hour south.     5th Avenue (Quinta Avenida)

    5th Avenue is the spine of Playa del Carmen. This pedestrian boulevard runs north-south for over 20 blocks and it's where most of the action is. Restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, clothing boutiques, and street food vendors line both sides. At night the whole strip lights up and the crowds multiply. It's a fantastic walk, but it's also the worst place to drag luggage. The street is paved but bumpy in spots, the crowd flow is unpredictable, and shop owners aren't thrilled about bags knocking into their displays.     Cozumel Ferry Terminal

    The ferry to Cozumel leaves from the pier at the east end of Calle 1 Sur, right in the heart of Playa. Thousands of people pass through here daily heading to and from the island.
